Your profile

Your name, picture, cover, bio, and the post you want people to read first.

Your profile lives at easybie.com/@yourname. Everything on it is edited from Settings → Profile.

What you can set Copy a link to this section

  • Name — shown above your username, changeable at any time and with none of the username's rules. 2 to 60 characters
  • Bio — a short description of you, up to 300 characters
  • Location — up to 100 characters — and Website
  • Profile picture and Cover image — both can be repositioned after uploading, so a photo that is not square is not ruined by the crop
  • Birthday — the day and the month only. The year you gave when you signed up is never shown, here or anywhere else, because a full date of birth is a security answer rather than a birthday. Who sees it is up to you: Everyone, People who follow you, or Nobody
  • Interests — up to ten tags on your profile, each one a link to what people are posting about it
  • Links — up to five, each with a name of your own choosing. Addresses must start with http:// or https://
  • Work — up to ten roles, each with what you do, where, and the years
  • Achievements — up to ten things you are proud of, each with who gave it and when

The audience your composer opens on is not here — it is Default post audience, under Settings → Privacy. You can still change it on any individual post.

How long each field can be Copy a link to this section

Easybie counts characters, not words — a full stop, a space and an emoji are one character each. Three hundred characters is roughly forty to fifty words of English, and rather fewer of Bengali, Hindi or Japanese, which is why the number on screen is the one to trust rather than a word count in your head.

Field Limit
Name 60
Bio 300
Location 100
Website 190
An interest tag 60
A link's name 60, and its address 300
A role, and where you did it 120 each
Something you are proud of 140, and who gave it 120

Every box that can hold more than a line shows how many characters are left once you are near the end. You can go past it. The number turns red and counts below zero, nothing you typed or pasted is thrown away, and Save tells you how far over you are so you can cut it down yourself — rather than the box quietly refusing to accept the rest of your sentence.

Featuring a post Copy a link to this section

Any of your own posts can be pinned to the top of your profile: open the ⋯ menu on the post and choose Feature on my profile. Up to three at a time — three is a selection, ten is just your posts again in a different order. Featuring a fourth does not replace the oldest; it refuses, and asks you to unfeature one first.

Hiding your numbers Copy a link to this section

Settings → Profile has Hide the numbers on my posts. Reactions, replies and reposts all still work — nobody sees the counts, including you.

The one exception is how many people have saved a post, which stays visible to you either way. Saving is invisible to everybody except the post's author, so there was never a number there for other people to see.

The tabs on your profile Copy a link to this section

Posts, Articles, Replies, Pictures, Tagged and About each have their own web address. Sending somebody a link opens it on the tab you were looking at, and the back button walks back through the tabs rather than out of the profile.
